“This is a 2+ hour walking tour of Fisherman's Wharf. At the end of it, you have to wait in a very long line to board a ferry boat to Alcatraz. By the time we arrived at Alcatraz, we were tired of walking. If you want to walk Fisherman's Wharf and that's what you want, go for it. If your main objective is to go and explore Alcatraz, skip this tour. Not sure if there is a skip the line to Alcatraz, but if there is, book that instead, or book your Alcatraz direct and go early.”

“We were looking for a tour of Alcatraz, and this was the only tour available that got us to Alcatraz. However, it ended up being great. We met at the Ferry Building, and our guide (Carol) took us around the building and gave us a history of the building and many of the merchants in the building. The food tasting ranged from cheese, to bread, to the meat purveyor. The sample at Slanted Door led us to book dinner reservations there the next day. There are many tours that go to Alcatraz, but this one was the best way to get there. The samples were so plentiful that we skipped…”

“We purchased our tickets in advance. You can't reserve a time slot, just show up with your e-ticket or print it out. The whole experience went well. You are seated according to how many are in your party. Regardless, the wait wasn't long. Wait times will vary. In spite of it being a crystal clear day with views all the way to both bridges, the lines weren't long. The views were great. I messaged the venue ahead of time to inquire about time reservations.
